HOW TO GET TO SODANKYLÄ

Sodankylä is located approximately two hours northeast by car from Lapland's capital, Rovaniemi. A direct Google Maps link can be found here.

Train

Finland is provided with excellent railroad network. While trains do not go as far north as Sodankylä, Lapland's capital Rovaniemi can be easily reached by train. English timetable and prices can be found at Finnish Railways webpage.

Bus

Sodankylä can be reached by bus daily every two hours from Rovaniemi railway station. Timetable and prices can be found at Matkahuolto coach service webpage. 

Planes

Two major airlines companies, Finnair and Norwegian, fly from Finnish capital Helsinki to Rovaniemi. Most Rovaniemi-Sodankylä buses also stop by at Rovaniemi airport.

Festival Bus

The official Festival Bus will run 24/7 from Luosto to Sodankylä and back. The precise schedule will be published the same time with official program map.

Mattress accommodation

For both men and women, but an extra class room reserved for women only. 20 € / 24 hours. No reservations.

Matami-Tatami (Tatami accommodation)

Inexpensive floor accommodation for women only. Aleksanteri Kena school, Building E, Koulutie 2. A walking distance (1,5km) from town center. 25 € / 24 hours.

Includes mattress, lavatories and showers. Customers may also use a microwave oven, a coffee maker, a water boiler and a fridge. Make sure to take your own sleeping bag or blanket with you.

Matami-Tatami opens on Wednesday at 12:00 and closes on Sunday at 1PM.

Iloksi Festival Lodging

A comfortable, exclusive floor lodging (for both men and women). 39€ / 24 hours. Mattress, blanket, pillow, linen and towel included. Toilets, showers, water boiler and fridge free to use. Infra-red sauna can be reserved.
